The Woman, The Constitution, and The Bible

I had the privilege to learn about our country's constitution. As I was reading through it I came across Article II Section III, which says "He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States."

What does it mean when it says 'HE'? Does it mean that a man should be president instead of a woman? Or does it refer to 'he' as man and or woman?

I know that some people are against a woman president and some are all for it, but for my personal preference... I think that if a woman is married that it is best that she stay home to tend for it and to take care of her husband.

Besides, if a woman does become president, who is going to be the 'First Lady'? If a woman is elected president it would be the first time in our nations history that there will be a married president, but no first lady.

The Bible says that men are to lead, and the wife is supposed to love, honor, and obey him. But, if a woman who is married becomes president, shall it be that she is not obeying her husband, or would it be that her husband is obeying her? Who is going to 'wear the pants' in that family? If a woman is elected president, would that make her husband the 'First Man'? And if he becomes the 'First Man', then who is REALLY leading?

The Bible says in Titus 2:5, "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. "

Jess, wonderful post! Today's society says that it's okay for the woman to "wear the pants" or to rule over the family. Christians are falling for it as well. Maybe it's not hardcore feminism, but even a watered down version is not God's plan!

If you look back over time, you will see that when women stopped being the emotional and "home" support and started trying to do it all, families began to really suffer. I believe many of the issues we have today (starting with children who are starved for attention and act out as far as to bring guns to school) could be solved if their mothers would have tended to the home and children as God desires. Submission has become a four letter word- but I believe being a mother, a submissive wife, and caring for the home is a difficult and important job.. and nothing to be ashamed of!

If the man is the HEAD, than the woman (wife) is the neck- which SUPPORTS the head. Very necessary! :)

Again, appreciated your post and have enjoyed your new GGM!! :) I'm a writer on HOTM with your Mom.

This can be a touchy subject for many, but when I consider why God made woman it does cause me to wonder if such a prominent role is right for a woman. God made woman to be her husband's helpmeet. It is highly questionable if a married woman could fulfill her God-given role as helpmeet if she is in such a place of leadership. However, these basic tenets seem far from many these days. Sad, but true. So many families are failing today because of it.

Thought provoking post, Jess.
